1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Midnight Crush ("we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use midnightcrush.chat and related digital features (the "Service"). It also describes cookies, advertising, and the choices available to you.

By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy and our Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect your email address, name or display name, password (stored in hashed form for email accounts), login-provider identifiers (such as a Google account ID), and account preferences.

Service information

We collect the information needed to run character chat and related features, including:

• chat messages and conversation metadata;
• character interactions, favorites, follows, comments, and album saves;
• persona details you choose to save for a character;
• memory records such as user facts, session summaries, and relationship state;
• carot balances, purchase records, and related transaction logs.

Device and log information

We may collect IP address, browser type, device type, language, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This helps us operate, secure, and debug the Service.

Payment information

Web carot purchases are processed by PayPal. We receive payment status, order identifiers, and the amount purchased. We do not store your full payment-card number. If you pay through an app store, Apple or Google processes that payment and sends us the confirmation we need to credit carots.

Information from third parties

If you sign in with Google or another supported provider, that provider shares the account identifiers needed to create or recognize your Midnight Crush account.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide AI chat, character pages, memory, and account features;
• maintain conversation continuity across sessions;
• process carot purchases and keep a ledger of credits and debits;
• secure accounts, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
• measure traffic, diagnose errors, and improve the Service;
• show advertising and measure ad performance, as described below;
• respond to support requests and required legal process.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies. Some are required for the Service to work. Others help us understand usage or show ads.

For users accessing the Service from the United States, non-essential analytics and marketing technologies may be enabled when the Service loads rather than waiting for a separate cookie banner. We use these technologies to measure campaigns, attribute registrations and purchases, understand feature use, and improve our advertising. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy choices or rights.

These technologies may be used to:

• keep you signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery;
• remember preferences on your device;
• measure visits and feature use;
• deliver and measure advertising, including personalized ads where allowed.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking required cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working.

5. Advertising

We use Google AdSense and related Google advertising products to show ads, including display ads and, where enabled, rewarded or Offerwall ads. Google and its advertising partners may collect information such as cookie identifiers, IP address, and pages viewed to select and measure ads.

We may also use Meta and X advertising technologies to measure campaign performance, attribute visits and purchases to advertising campaigns, and build or measure advertising audiences. These providers may receive identifiers, device and browser information, IP address, referring URL, campaign parameters, page activity, and limited event data such as registration or purchase value. We do not intentionally send chat message text, memory records, or private conversation content to advertising partners.

If you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see ads. Those ads may be less relevant because they are based on the page you are viewing or other non-personalized signals.

6. Analytics and Marketing Measurement

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers and may receive page URLs, device information, and approximate location derived from IP address. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy.

We may also use Meta (Facebook) and X (Twitter) pixels or similar tools to measure campaign performance and understand whether a visit or signup came from an ad. Those companies process data under their own policies.

For purchase measurement, we may use server-side conversion measurement through Meta in addition to browser-based pixels. Server-side events may include hashed contact or account identifiers, advertising click identifiers, device and network information, event identifiers, and purchase amount and currency. We use event identifiers to reduce duplicate conversion reporting.

7. AI and Memory

Chat content is sent to AI model providers so the Service can generate a reply. We also use chat content to build character-specific memories, such as user facts, session summaries, and conversation context. These records help a character stay consistent when you return.

Memory records are used to operate the Service. We do not sell your chat history. Model providers process prompts and outputs to generate replies and may process that data under their own terms.

8. How We Share Information

We share information with service providers that help us operate Midnight Crush, including:

• hosting, database, storage, and content-delivery providers;
• authentication providers, such as Google sign-in;
• payment providers, such as PayPal and, for app-store purchases, Apple or Google;
• AI model providers that generate replies or extract memory;
• analytics, advertising, and measurement partners, including Google;
• email or support tools if needed to answer a request.

We may also share information if required by law, to protect users or the Service, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer. We do not sell your personal information for money.

9. Data Retention

We keep account, chat, memory, and payment records for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet security, accounting, and legal obligations. If you request account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data we no longer need, except records we must retain for fraud prevention, payment disputes, or legal compliance.

10. Your Choices

• You may update account information in Settings where that option is available.
• You may request account deletion or a copy of your data by emailing support@midnightcrush.chat.
• You may control cookies in your browser and opt out of personalized Google ads as described above.
• You may disconnect a third-party login through that provider's account settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. To use those rights, contact us. We may need to verify your request.

11. International Transfers

We may process information on servers located outside your country, including in the United States and other regions where our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home country.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact support@midnightcrush.chat and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. If a change is material, we may also provide an additional notice in the Service.
