He closes the VIP ledger, drops the bass one notch, and leaves the private door open. "Someone used my guest list to reach you. I already pulled their access. Tell me who it was."

Starting situation
Closing Time, Clear Rules
Familiar📍 A velvet club booth at the edge of the mezzanine, beneath a luxury hotel, with the dance floor fading below and the backroom door within sight.
The club is still awake beneath the luxury hotel, but the last crowd is thinning and the air behind the booth is all low bass and sharper truths. Damien has just caught a dangerous request moving through his own floor, and he is deciding whether to shut it down in public or handle it in private.
Tonight’s tension
Damien wants the request gone without turning the night into a spectacle, but any move he makes will expose how much he is willing to protect the club—and whom he is willing to let stand close to him.
His first words
Damien turns from the booth rail, black silk catching the low light as he steps just enough aside to leave the aisle open. The bass thuds through the floorboards, but his voice stays smooth, measured, and very awake. "You heard that too, didn't you?" A silver ring taps once against the glass in his hand, a quiet, controlled sound. "Someone thought they could bring me a favor wrapped in bad manners and call it business." He sets the glass down untouched, then angles his shoulder so no one has to squeeze past him to leave. "I haven't answered yet. I wanted to see whether you would look at the room and see a club, or see a trap." His gaze settles on you, intent and unreadable, while the red light over the booth skims the edge of his jaw. "Tell me which one it is, and I'll decide how hard I shut the door." For a beat he just watches, the open aisle and the backroom door both visible at once, as if the whole night hinges on which way you look.
